The campsite will be open again from 12th April 2021 for non-residential bookings from pre-booked groups. We are working hard to bring as many of our activities and facilities online as soon as we can.
To keep everyone safe while on-site, there are still additional measures in place.
Please visit our COVID-19 Information Page to see what measures are in place on site and what is currently available.
Given the change in guidance from the Government and National Youth Agency, the Scouts plan to move to various readiness levels in England.
From Monday 29th March at 00:01, Derbyshire Scouts are at AMBER outdoors.
Leaders are required to follow this five step process, where you'll be guided through all of the information you need to know to get your section back together safely.
Air Rifle Shooting
Our air rifles are state-of-the-art pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) air rifles (0.177”/4.5mm), which are suitable for all age groups. Drum Hill can provide qualified instructors or you can supply your own if they have appropriate air rifle qualifications.
Sessions for Beaver Scouts
Although our air rifles are suitable for use by Beaver Scouts, it is necessary for this age group to have one-on-one supervision while shooting. We will provide a range officer to supervise oversee the activity, but it is the responsibility of the group to provide sufficient leaders for this.
Own Instructors / Own Equipment
If you are providing your own instructors, we will need to see a copy of your qualifications before you will be allowed to use the range and the equipment. You must also ensure that the supervision ratios are adhered to.
Air weapons may only be brought onto site with written permission. If you wish to bring your own weapons, please request an application form from our booking secretary and return to the campsite for approval. Should your application be approved, you will receive written confirmation from the site manager. All applications to bring own weapons to site must be received no later than 28 days prior to your group's arrival on site. Any applications received with less than 28 days notice will be immediately declined.
