This event is aimed at Leaders who have their archery permit and want to refresh their archery skills. The day will be a mixture of discussion, sharing ideas and practical sessions. Here are some of the current ideas:

• a number of practical bases to refresh your technical knowledge:
  assembling a new bow
  set and adjust a bows bracing height
  repairing arrows (nocks, points, vanes)
  update on Scout Archery rules
• discuss range setup (what people have and how they have risk assessed their range)
• archery games (please print off a game that you play, we will share on a display board)

• event will  be held at Heather Lodge, Drum Hill County Camp Site, Morley Lane, Little Eaton, Derby DE21 5AH
• arrive from 09:30 (drinks will be available), day starts at 10:00
• Lunch will be around 30 mins
• finish around 17:00

Would you like to get your Archery Permit? This is the course for you. We are running a training course (no previous experience necessary) to teach you everything you need to know to get your Archery permit.

The course is 3 days (7th/8th and 15th March 2026) at Spikes Activity building, Drum Hill Camp Site. All archery equipment will be provided. Note: all 3 days must be completed to cover all of the course content.  The final day will include the permit assessment. 
Our course covers all the AGB Instructor Award content, plus there are sessions on repairs and practical advice on handling additional needs iand archery. It also includes your Scout Archery permit assessment. 

Drinks and biscuits will be provided. Please bring your own packed lunch and a mug for drinks.

This course gives Scouts and Explorers the chance to earn their Master At Arms badge. 
The course is 4 days in total (all days must be completed to cover all the course content), starting at 10:00 and finishing at 16:30 each day. 
The course is held in Spikes Activity building at Drum Hill Camp site, 11th/12th and 18th/19th April 2026.
On the final day, Parents and close family are invited to come and see and hear all about what the Scouts and Explorers have learnt. 

While you may not see archery as a physically active sport, it does require a high degree of fitness and stamina. You will be on your feet for long periods.
